Thalia's received a few paychecks by now and she has been covertly buying some latex items through the mail. One of her jobs is to take Sarah out to the road to get the mail. This allows her to get packages without the Hahn's knowing about it.

it's an unusually hot day for this time of year. She's wearing her non-chlorinated tights under her jeans as she vacuums the living room. This is vigorous work. She's swimming in the sweat.
Just as she discovers that she has sprung a leak, Lorraine wheels into the room on her way to the kitchen and also sees the little puddle on the floor.
Lorraine looked at the puddle. "Is that what I think it is?"
"What do you mean", I asked.
She replied in a friendly voice, "Is that #DWS?"
"What is DWS?"
"It's the Dreaded White Stuff that you leave around when your latex leaks and you have used powder. We saw it a lot when we visited the flat of Robert and Glenda - our friends in London. Apparently, when it was cool and they were not exerting themselves, there were no problems. But if the weather was warm they would sweat like crazy. The sweat would mix with the powder and then, inevitably, find a find a place to leak out onto the floor or furniture. In fact, I remember Glenda told me they she was glad they had hardwood floors because it won't wash out of carpets. Most of their living room furniture was made with faux, PVC-based "leather-like" upholstery for this reason, as well. But even with these in place, the stuff is still a beast to clean off. "
